I really liked that he did his own assessment rather than going by what we had been told by our lactation consultant. He identified a lip and a tongue tie and told us we could either opt for the laser surgery or we could go home and think about it. He did not pressure us at all. We decided to go ahead with the procedure. He was very gentle with our son, so was his assistant Marianne. After the procedure, he took a lot of time explaining after care to us and invited us back a week later for a follow up. At the follow up, he was very thorough and gave us some tips how to improve our technique for his after care. Overall a very pleasant experience in a very difficult situation. Thanks to Dr Levinkind and Marianne for improving our son’s wellbeing! I can only recommend Dr Levinkind if your child is going through something similar.

We visited Dr Levinkind on 2 occasions with our 3month old baby; 1st appointment for the initial assessment and subsequent surgery, the 2nd for a follow up a week later... read more as per his service. We travelled over an hour each way to attend his practice and it was definitely worth out time and money. Both appointments were excellent in terms of Covid safety, his knowledge and experience in this field (tongue and lip ties) and his support understanding to my son and us as anxious first-time parents. The laser surgery performed seems to have done an excellent job at improving our son's feeding and mouth functions; we ensured we followed all the advice given by Dr Levinkind as part of the healing process. We would not hesitate to contact him again if required.

We went to see Dr Levinkind with our 6 month old daughter for revision of her posterior tongue tie. Although she was able to nurse after birth, her latch wasn’t... read more good and she was waking up several times at night with colic and reflux from the amount of air taken during feeds. At 1 week old she was admitted in hospital with severe jaundice and weight loss as she couldn’t feed properly and we were sent home with formula top ups. Despite all the support we’ve had from midwives and feeding coordinators, nursing was uncomfortable for me, and she was still struggling to feed. The next few months were very difficult and I was ready to give up breastfeeding. We were referred to see a consultant who dismissed our issues, saying my daughter only had a small tie and this wouldn’t justify revision. After doing extensive research, we’ve read about Dr Levinkind's work and decided to book an appointment. On the day we were seen by both Dr Levinkind and lactation consultant Catriona Muir, who listened to our issues and concerns. We were quite distressed about the procedure our daughter needed to have done, but their professional, kind and supportive manner made us feel at ease. The procedure took no more than 5 min and although our daughter was a bit upset, she was able to nurse straight away. We could see an immediate improvement in her latch and a dramatic reduction in my discomfort. We were then taught about after-care, which is fundamental for proper healing and good recovery, and to keep in touch in the next few days. Now I finally feel there is hope and I’m very pleased we came across Dr Levinkind and his team. I would recommend him to anyone who’s struggling with breastfeeding. Dr Levinkind performed a laser division of my son's tongue tie and lip tie. Unfortunately he had been a poor feeder from the start and despite having his tongue... read more tie clipped at 2 weeks, it grew back and i was unable to continue breastfeeding. As it turned out he was also unable to maintain suction on a bottle and after a stressful few months of seeing various consultants with differing views as to the cause of my son's problems, we happened upon Dr Levinkind's Practice. Dr Levinkind was the first person we encountered who seemed to have experience and a non-judgemental attitude to our situation. He was kind, sensitive and informative and allayed our concerns. The procedure was carried out the same day. After a couple of weeks, our son's feeding had hugely improved and he is thriving and putting on weight. We were extremely impressed by the care we received and would not hesitate to spread the word!

I experienced extreme pain from the start in breastfeeding my son, and after two weeks an astute lactation consultant finally diagnosed him with both a tongue-tie (50%, class 2--so not... read more super obvious) and lip-tie (class 3). We live in France and the consultant strongly advised visiting Dr. Levinkind, one of the few doctors in Europe to use lasers instead of scissors, and one of the few in Europe who connects the tongue-tie situation to breastfeeding in a holistic approach to mother/infant health and wellbeing. But going to London was complicated because my infant son had no passport (and I could not continue breastfeeding him if we didn't have the tongue-tie and lip-tie release performed ASAP). Fortunately Dr. Levinkind had an opening within a few days, and we secured an emergency passport for the trip. The friendly office manager greeted us and allowed us to get comfortable in the upstairs waiting room. The process itself took only a few minutes, and my son spent a total of 15 minutes away from me. I heard him cry a couple times but when Dr. Levinkind brought him back he wasn't fussy and nursed immediately -- and that first nursing session post-surgery represented a *shockingly dramatic* reduction in pain for me. Instead of torture, breastfeeding was gentle -- and vastly more effective for my son. (Warning: the pain did return to a lesser extent the following day, but after three or four days my son figured out his "new tongue" and we are now on a much better trajectory for long-term nursing.) Dr. Levinkind also showed me and my husband how to do the post-surgery massage to reduce the risk of improper scarring, and he answered all of our questions patiently. If your child is diagnosed with tongue-tie, I have zero hesitation recommending Dr. Levinkind's practice. Don't delay this surgery or switch to formula until you talk to Dr. Levinkind about your options.

"Dr. Levinkind and his team performed laser surgery on my son's posterior tongue tie and lip tie when he was ten months old. He had been suffering through months of... read more acid reflux, he failed to breastfeed and was a very poor bottle feeder. He struggled with weaning; gagging and vomiting easily and failing to move solids around in his mouth or swallow them. By the time we met Dr. Levinkind we had seen three different highly regarded pediatric gastroenterologists on both sides of the Atlantic, two pediatricians and a hoard of nurses, lactation consultants and health visitors who either failed to identify the tongue and lip ties or dismissed these as minor and unlikely to cause a problem with feeding. We managed to convince a lactation consultant to perform a tongue tie release when my son was 6 months old but due to lack of aftercare, scar tissue formed and the tongue tie reattached. Despite expert opinions suggesting that my son's feeding problems were behavioral, I continued to strongly believe the tongue and lip ties were causing a problem and was feeling quite distressed when we finally saw Dr. Levinkind. Dr. Levinkind was extremely helpful and supportive, taking the time to really listen to my concerns and then talking through his examination and the options for treatment in great detail to put my mind at ease. He and his team were very hands on with my son, they spent time playing with him so that he would feel comfortable and made every effort to make the experience as minimally traumatic and painful as possible. Dr. Levinkind also made sure I felt equipped to perform the necessary aftercare which we are sure helped to ensure this procedure was successful. Since his procedure, my son's feeding has improved greatly, he is so clearly much more comfortable and is finally learning to move his tongue around his mouth.
